A tour through Duong Lam is a great way to explore the area's twelve-hundred year history
Drive 55km (around 1 hour) to north of Hanoi where located the ancient village of Duong Lam. Time must have stopped long time ago in Duong Lam. You will find no noisy cars and lorries and only a few motorbikes. Most locals still use bicycle or ox carts. Stroll around and enjoy an experience that is becoming very rare in a fast developing and modern Vietnam. Lunch will be served in the house of local family.
Return to Hanoi early afternoon. Visit the Temple of Literature, also known as Vietnam’s first university, it was built back during the days of the Ly dynasty in the 11th century.
You will attend the Water Puppet Show in the evening. This is a unique Vietnamese traditional art in which actors and actresses stand half dipped in water and bring the puppets to life
